250 composers from all over the world are invited to write new piano pieces for Beethoven's 250th anniversary in the year 2020. All pieces refer to Beethoven's music and/or his life.
Susanne Kessel plays the world premieres of all the piano pieces in Beethoven's birthtown Bonn. And further performances also in other cities and countries.

All pieces are published within a high quality sheet music edition by EDITIONS MUSICA FERRUM / London.

Wolfgang Müller about his piano piece „Schweine. Fingerübungen für Musik und Gebärdensprache“

„Für solche Schweine spiele ich nicht!“, rief einst Ludwig van Beethoven, als ein junger Graf während des Konzerts nicht aufhörte, sich mit seiner Freundin zu unterhalten. Er sprang auf und verließ den Salon, so berichtete Ferdinand Ries. Warum ärgerte sich der klavierspielende Komponist? Ganz einfach: weil der junge Graf Beethovens Klavierspiel ignorierte, etwas anderes für ihn wichtiger war.

Dass Beethoven taub war (beziehungsweise ertaubte) gehört zu den vergifteten Komplimenten, die Gehörlose häufig von Angehörigen der hörenden Mehrheit vermittelt bekommen. Dabei haben taube Menschen längst komplexe Gebärdensprachen entwickelt, einschließlich einer eigenen vielgestaltgen Gebärdenpoesie und -kunst. Während der junge Graf buchstäblich nicht hinhörte, sehen Hörende zwar oft mehr oder weniger neugierig oder verstohlen hin, wenn Gehörlose miteinander kommunizieren, preisen die Schönheit der Bewegungen, doch verstehen weder Sprache, Sinn noch Poesie. Sie sehen hin, aber „hören“ nicht zu. Wie beim Klavierspiel, sind auch beim Einsatz der Gebärdensprache alle zehn Finger beteiligt. Die Komposition Schweine.
