lyrics

Ezo Dem Sarici about her piano piece „A Bagatelle for Beethoven“:

„I took Beethoven’s Bagatelles as framework to help with the rhythmic structure of the piece. With the continuous use of fast passages and frequent change of rhythmic patterns, this was a huge influence in the versatility I had in moulding complex and exciting combinations of time signature, speed and rhythm. The op. 126 collection of Bagatelles were one of Beethoven’s late writings of 1825. A lot of his late writings were a personal resemblance of his frustration for the loss of his hearing, so the sudden changes of dynamic and the depth of harmonic development represent his pain. The inspiration from the sudden changes in dynamic in my piece were a subtle reflection for Beethoven’s lost hearing and agony for it.“
