250 composers from all over the world are invited to write new piano pieces for Beethoven's 250th anniversary in the year 2020. All pieces refer to Beethoven's music and/or his life.
Susanne Kessel plays the world premieres of all the piano pieces in Beethoven's birthtown Bonn. And further performances also in other cities and countries.

All pieces are published within a high quality sheet music edition by EDITIONS MUSICA FERRUM / London.

„“Voll brutal, eykj!“ – Diesen Satz hörte ich regelmäßig, wenn ich Beethovens 5. Sinfonie im Rahmen des Musikunterrichts an Schulen im Klassenzimmer anspielte. Nicht umsonst trägt sie den Beinamen Schicksals-Sinfonie. Die berühmtesten vier Töne der Musikgeschichte zeigen in den ersten Takten tatsächlich, dass das Schicksal mitunter brutal sein kann; so wie beim Komponisten selbst, der letztendlich seine Musik nicht mehr hören konnte. Das berühmte Motiv ist schon in Mozarts Piu Allegro der Fantasie KV ,475 und bei früheren Komponisten zu finden. Ich habe es , wie Mozart, brutal eng in des-des-des-c geführt, außerdem die wichtige Achtelpause brutal weggelassen, sodass zwangsläufig ein 3/4-Takt entstehen musste. Entstanden ist dabei ein pianistischer Höllenritt, der nicht einmal durch den Zuruf „Freude schöner Götterfunken“ gestoppt werden konnte. Nur die „Teufelslache“ führt dreimal zu einem (hinter-)fragenden g-moll maj.-Akkord, der am Ende doch der Brutalität des Walzers erliegen muss und selbst der Schlussakkord wird durch die Töne a und as hinterfragt. Um das Ganze nicht ausufern zu lassen, zeigt der französische Titel des Stückes doch ein wenig Wohlklang auf… Wenn man bei der Interpretation des „Walzers“ Viertel = 150 nicht unterschreitet, dürfte die Aufführungsdauer bei 4 min. liegen.“
