"250 piano pieces for Beethoven"

Susanne Kessel invited 250 composers from all over the world to write new piano pieces for Beethoven's 250th anniversary in the year 2020. All pieces refer to Beethoven's music and/or his life.
Susanne Kessel played the world premieres of all the piano pieces in Beethoven's birthtown Bonn. And further performances also in other cities and countries.

All pieces are published within a high quality sheet music edition by EDITIONS MUSICA FERRUM / London.

You can find the sheet music of this piece in Vol. 9 of the project's edition.

Matthias Höhn über sein piano piece "Sag mir Mando..."

„… hat zu BEETHOVEN ein eher gespaltenes Verhältnis. Vater und vor allem Mutter hörten immer die Pastorale rauf und runter, auch mal die Neunte. .. wuchs in einem Kinderzimmer auf, in dem ein Klavier stand, das der älteren Schwester gehörte, die längst nicht mehr im Haushalt lebte. Berühren war verboten. Trotzdem entwickelte sich Liebe zur Musik, aber nun gar nicht zum Klavier. 1975 Kauf eines ersten eigenen Instruments (in der DDR) .. einer Mandoline. Später – als Lehrer – stand dann das Klavier vor ihm.. und warum sollte man nicht einmal versuchen, darauf zu begleiten. Das ging sogar… bis heute. Leider ohne Beethoven …bis mir die Sonatine c-moll für Mandoline und Cembalo in die Hände fiel . Aus c mach d, aus dem Stück ein Filet und einen anderen Bass !"
