250 composers from all over the world are invited to write new piano pieces for Beethoven's 250th anniversary in the year 2020. All pieces refer to Beethoven's music and/or his life.
Susanne Kessel plays the world premieres of all the piano pieces in Beethoven's birthtown Bonn. And further performances also in other cities and countries.

All pieces are published within a high quality sheet music edition by EDITIONS MUSICA FERRUM / London.

Erik Janson about his piano piece „Felix sit dies natalis 250 – meinem Idol Ludwig van“:

„Felix sit dies natalis 250 – meinem Idol Ludiwg van“ ist als einzelnes Klavierstück oder integrierbar in mein Klavierstücke-„Work in Progress“ (seit 2015), den Geburtstagsständchen- bzw. Gedenkjahres-Zyklus mit gleichem Obertiteln „Felix sit dies natalis“ aufführbar. Das Werk setzt sich mit Intervall- material (meist Terzen), teilweise sogar mit „Zitat“-Schichten von Beethovens Hammerklaviersonate op. 106 (mal im Bass, mal im Diskant „aufblitzend“) auseinander und greift auch deren Virtuosität auf sowie schon Beethovens Vorliebe, die gesamte Klaviatur und Pedal-Möglichkeiten der Flügel seiner Zeit auszunutzen. Das von mir hinzu erfundene motivische „Material“, direkt zu Beginn exponiert, sind die Töne des Namens „Ludwig van Beethoven“ – ein Anagramm. Die Buchstaben, die dabei nicht den Notennamen (Töne „d-g-a-b-e-h“) entsprechen (also „L- u – w – i – v – n – t – o – v – n“) legte ich so fest, dass alle alphabetischen Buchstaben von „i“ bis „z“ – auch ihren Sprachklang nachahmend – fortlaufend als „cis, dis, fis, gis“ (oder enharm. verwechselt notiert) über die gesamte Klaviatur verteilt wurden. So entspricht das „tiefe“ „Lu“ in Ludwig den tiefsten Tönen groß „Gis“ und „kontra Cis“ (= u als tiefster Namensmotiv-Ton). Für die Buchstaben „i- v -t“ stehen entsprechend die hohen Diskant-Töne „cis4 – dis4 – gis4“.
